Provider Recruitment Assistance Program opening June 2025!

WVP Health Foundation is excited to announce the reinstatement of the IPA Provider Recruitment Assistance Program!

The WVP Board and Administration recognize the challenges independent practices encounter in the recruitment process.

To provide support to member practices and ensure the sustainability and success of independent practice WVP Health Foundation’s Provider Recruitment Assistance Program will make available funds for provider recruitment specific to signing bonuses, loan repayment, and moving expenses.

Eligibility Criteria:


  • Requesting practice must be a current IPA member practice.
  • Requesting practice cannot be hospital-based/owned or have private equity ownership.
  • Requesting practice must not have received recruitment assistance from WVP within the prior 12 months.
  • Requesting practice must have a current opening.
  • Requesting practice must not have received funding from another organization for recruitment assistance within the past 12 months.
  • Only one provider may be requested funds for per clinic per year. Clinics are limited to one request per fiscal year.

Allowable funding uses:


  • Recruitment/Sign-on Bonuses
  • Moving expenses
  • Student loan repayment
  • Retention Bonuses


Disallowable funding uses:


  • Recruitment of current IPA member providers
  • Reimbursement for recruitment-related costs (e.g. advertisement costs, recruiter fees, onboarding costs/fees)

This program is available to all WVP IPA member practices for the recruitment of new MD, DO, or APP providers.


Available funding packages: up to $100,000 for MD/DO providers or up to $25,000 for APP providers.

Part time providers are only eligible for partial packages: MD/DO-$60,000; APP-$15,000
